After the initial configuration, how do I start using my WHM/cPanel?

Back

Once after you have managed to login to your WHM control panel and performed the initial configuration, you can start using it to create cPanel accounts for your domains. Within cPanel control panel, you can create email accounts for your domain, upload your website files using File Manager, and other functions.

1. Creating cPanel account for your domain

If you plan to host a domain, say example.com on your cPanel, you would need to create a cPanel account for the domain (example.com) under your WHM control panel. More information on how to create cPanel account for your domain can be found on our knowledge-base article at below URL:

https://my.simplercloud.com/index.php?/knowledgebase/article/174/how-to-create-cpanel-account-on-whm-control-panel-/

2. Logging in to your cPanel account

Once the cPanel account has been created, you may login to cPanel control panel using the username and password of the newly created account at below URL:

https://YOUR-IP-ADDRESS:2083/

Replace YOUR-IP-ADDRESS with the IP address of your servelet.

If you receive warning message that the connection is untrusted, please ignore the warning. In Firefox, click on "I Understand the Risks" message and then click on "Add Exception" button.

More information on how to log in to your cPanel account can be found on cPanel documentation at below URL:

4. Create FTP Accounts

You can create FTP accounts for you or your web developer team to upload the website files to the server using FTP. To create the FTP accounts, login to your cPanel (not WHM) control panel and go to Home > Files > FTP Accounts. More information on how to create FTP accounts can be found on cPanel documentation at below URL:

5. Using File Manager to manage your files

As an alternative to FTP, you can also use File Manager to manage your files. You can access the File Manager by logging in to your cPanel (not WHM) control panel and go to Home > Files > File Manager. More information on how to use the File Manager function on cPanel can be found on cPanel documentation at below URL:
