Why I am not able to add domain alias on cPanel?

Back

If you try to add a domain alias on cPanel and you are getting below error message:

"There was an error when the system attempted to create the alias. Sorry, the domain is already pointed to an IP address that does not appear to use DNS servers associated with this server. Please transfer the domain to this servers nameservers or have your administrator add one of its nameservers to /etc/ips.remotedns and make the proper A entries on that remote nameserver."

even if you have registered the domain under our DNS Hosting service on ns1.simplercloud.com and ns2.simplercloud.com, below is the solution.

You would need to modify WHM configuration to allow remote domains and unregistered domains to be set to "On", as per cPanel forum discussion at below URL:

https://forums.cpanel.net/threads/problem-parking-a-domain-can-you-help.198101/

WHM > Server Configuration > Tweak Settings > Allow Remote Domains --> set to "On"
WHM > Server Configuration > Tweak Settings > Allow Unregistered Domains --> set to "On"

By default, the above settings are set to "Off" on WHM.
